Rihanna Returns
Six years after stepping away from music, the noise around Rihanna still had not died down. The cacophany of opinions got louder and louder after the announcement of her Super Bowl performance. So to tease the event, we played into this cultural tension, having Riri take her spotlight amidst the audio commentary that surrounded her.
BRAND: APPLE MUSIC
The event was Apple Music's first official sponsorship of the Super Bowl Halftime Show, marking the launch of a brand identity that would live, grow and respond to it's musical environment.
We worked with Man Vs. Machine to create an animated wordmark, inspired by cymatic sound particles, and encapsulating the grit, edge and amplitude of this particular version of the show.
